Activity: Story time > Read a Duck theme story Here are number of stories to share with our children in conjunction with a presentation of the duck. 1. The Ugly Duckling [Classic fairy tale] Read this retelling of Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, also a wordless video version. 2. Aesop Fable > The Tortoise and the Ducks Fables are wonderful vehicles to learn character education in a fun way. Here are two delightful interactive stories at BBC CBeebies. Have children listen carefully to the instructions so they can participate in the stories. 3. The Adventures of Debbie Duck Debbie Duck will gather her friends and flies to different locations. Debbie flies from the pond where she lives to the sea, the farm and the city. After reading story ask the children which of the animals shares the same beginning D sound in the name > her friend Dad the dog 3. Debbie Duck in the Park Debbie Duck visits the park and makes new friends. Two of her new friends share the same beginning D sound in the name. What are their names? Doodles the dog and Dan the dog. Character education > Caring > This story is about helping others. |
