Hyena Paper Mask Craft Printable Activity

Materials:

• printer
• choice of paper: white, construction paper, card stock
• coloring tools for B&W template
• scissors
• glue stick
• craft stick
• tape

This is an easy craft to present the hyena and include within lesson plan activities in a theme of African animals or safari theme. It is suitable for toddlers, preschool and early elementary grades.

• Color template. Discuss colors on the template. Use as a teaching tool and for display. This is a good choice for toddlers to use as a storytelling tool or dress-up.
• B&W template: Use a variety of coloring or painting tools. Paste additional accessories. Print template directly to a complimentary light color paper then color in the details.

1. Position the ears first, make pencil markings on the head template for these positions. Place glue on the lower border of the ears, slide to match the marked areas. Press the ears in place.
2. On the blank side, position, glue and tape a craft stick in place.
3. Optional: Print letter Hh and the word hyena behind the mask.
