Activity: Jack and Jill
Nursery Rhyme Poster & Music Note: Children under 2 will benefit greatly from singing, using puppets, stuffed animals, and/or finger plays with nursery rhymes. Activity: Coloring Page Activity - Jack & Jill Children will have fun coloring and or painting Jack and Jill. Print the coloring pages in the link provided. Provide a variety of materials to color and/or paint the page. Discuss the letter J in the names Jack and Jill. Activity: Letter J Alphabet Buddy Print the template of letter J Alphabet Buddy - Jenny J. I am sure Leanne, the creator of the Alphabet Buddies, will not mind if we change Jennie's name to Jill for the purpose of the activity. The template is available in color or black and white. Tell the children they will have fun with letter J and make Alphabet Buddy J Jill. The children can decorate and color the template if printed in black and white. Adult may need to assist cutting the pieces. Children can now assemble and glue pieces. Once Jill is completed you can add a craft stick to make a hand puppet to sing the nursery rhyme. Discuss other words that start with the letter J and the sound. Here are some words: jet, jacket, jump, jam, jackrabbit, jack in the box, Jell-O, jar, jewelry, jellyfish and jaguar. Additional materials to present Letter J: Alphabet Letter J worksheet and mini-book featuring Jack and Jill and Alphabet Letter J printable activities These are additional materials which will help to reinforce letter J and/or support the presentation. Do the letter tracer activity after a break or on another day of the week. |
