Activity: Present the nursery rhyme
"Jack and Jill" is an English nursery rhyme that dates back to the 18th century. The text varied and was expanded throughout the 19th century.
Text perhaps dating back 1765 is still in use at present, except Jill was spelled Gill:
To fetch a pail of water;
Jack fell down and broke his crown
And Jill came tumbling after.
Print, read and sing the nursery rhyme with a poster, or view at YouTube.

"Jack Tales": Jack tales feature Jack, an English archetypal hero and a stock character in legends, fairy tales and nursery rhymes. Jack is often portrayed as young, a bit lazy and even foolish, but emerges triumphant using his wit. Jack also appears in Appalachian folklore.
