The forester work is focused on three major responsibilities: Recreation,
Harvest, and Reforestation.
The forester helps to
protect, manage the resources of the forest wisely, and keep
forested areas healthy.
Summary:
Recreation: The forester is like a detective and he
finds clues in the forest that help match the right activities for
recreational spots such as campsites, picnic areas, hiking trails,
and at the same time ensure the forest remains healthy.
Harvest: The forester very carefully plans how much
wood (lumber) from trees is needed for the products that we need, but at the same
time making sure that the forest remains healthy and productive.
Reforestation: The forester has the responsibility of
reforesting which means to decide what trees and how many to plant and to prepare
the area for planting
