Holiday information:
Hanukkah
(also spelled Chanukah),
the Jewish Festival of Lights is celebrated for eight days and nights
in late
November or December. Each night the menorah
(candelabrum) is lit. This commemorates an important victory
over 2,000 years ago in which the Jewish people won freedom to worship
their own God, and the rededication of the holy Temple in Jerusalem.
