Activity > Presenting the rhyme:
"Ladybird, Ladybird" is an English language nursery rhyme and comparable versions appearing in German. The first publication in English appears in 1744. Ladybird is the name of the insect in the United Kingdom, and ladybug in North America.There are many variations to the rhyme, here is one form:
Ladybird, ladybird fly away home,
Your house is on fire and your children are gone,
All except one, and her name is Ann,
And she crept under the frying pan.
