The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf
A young boy took care of sheep near a quiet forest. He felt bored and wanted some fun. So he shouted, “Wolf! Wolf!” even though there was no wolf.
The villagers came running to help, but the boy just laughed. “I was only joking!” he said.
A few days later, he did it again. “Wolf! Wolf!” he cried. The villagers came, but again, there was no wolf. They were upset and warned him not to lie.
Then one evening, a real wolf came out of the forest and chased the sheep. The boy shouted, “Wolf! Wolf! Please help!” But this time, no one came. They thought he was tricking them again.
The wolf scared away many sheep, and the boy was left all alone.
If you lie too many times, people won't believe you really need help.
