The twelve zodiac signs are interesting to introduce or tie into classical mythology (Greco/Roman) and present the concept of star constellations. The term zodiac derives from Ancient Greek, meaning "cycle or circle of animals". Eight zodiac signs are animals (or mythological hybrids). Only the sign of Libra is represented by an object, the scales.
