Animals Alphabet Set 2
Color Posters, Coloring Pages and Handwriting Worksheets - P. 4
An animals alphabet for preschoolers age 3-5, kindergarten and first grade. The printable activities include: color poster, coloring page, and handwriting worksheet that is oriented to kids that have already practiced with the large preschool dotted caligraphic font.
Find the Letter: Many of the images will showcase the uppercase and/or the lowercase letter within the image. It can be obvious, such as the animal holding a sign with the letter, or it can be somewhat hidden. An example of the hidden element is letter D dragon; the letter D is formed by the "smoke" circling the dragon. Have fun encouraging children to find and identify the letters.
Imagination and emotions: Another educational element for this alphabet is to explore the images to use our imagination, and expand our vocabulary about emotions. What could be the animal expressing? Could the animal be surprised, happy, sad, frustrated, scared, etc. Have children imagine and develop a storyline for each animal. Some images are pointing to the importance of a skill to develop (ape learns to count with an abacus), or an issue of safety (duck wears a swimming safety vest).
